Pamela Leung makes sculpture from high-fired ceramics. She takes this traditional craft medium and works in a free and expressive manner, pushing the material to its limits. Her style is informed by a fusion of traditional Chinese culture with her modern Western training. She uses a symbolic language of zoomorphic characters to represent emotional aspects of domestic life. Leung's work is refreshingly playful and, like a good fable, each piece possesses a hidden moral.
